An Exclusive Interview With Aidan Regnaud
Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
Ans: It’s exciting if the song sounds good, but stressful if it’s sounding terrible.
Q: How do you shut things out?
Ans: Sleep.
Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?
Ans: If the last song I wrote was good and satisfying enough for me, then the next ones will keep coming. If it was hard to write it’ll be a grind until I get that perfect song.
Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?
Ans: Do whatever makes you happy I guess.
Q: What is you favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car?
ANs: The Smiths – There is a Light That Never Goes Out.
Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?
Ans: Other people’s words, not mine: Retro, Smooth, Different, Creative, Indie
Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the proccess?
ANS: I usually just think of sad or happy scenarios that have happened to me, or that I’ve just fantasised/made up, and then the rest is
shown in the songs. My favourite part is finishing it if I’m honest, I like hearing peoples thoughts on my songs.
Q: At what age did you start singing?
ANS: Probably about 13.
Q:Who are your inspirations?
Ans: I used to adore Noel Gallagher as a child which got me into playing the guitar, then I think it was Mac DeMarco that made me want to
start writing.
Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?
Ans: Probably Tyler, The Creator.
Q:What is your favorite song to sing live?
Ans: Every upbeat song that I’ve written.
Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?
Ans: I’m sort of writing again at the moment, and just trying to play more locally, but I’ll keep everyone updated through my Instagram.
