An Exclusive Interview With Chanteuse (Eva Constance)

Chanteuse (Eva Constance) Green started singing at age about age 7 years old in the church choir. Gaining what she learned in the choir, she wrote her first song when she was 12 years old. She got into recording soon after that and finally found her passion for music. It wasn’t til 2018 that she finally found her sound. Since then she has recorded an her first single, ‘Hold Me’. She is currently revamping her music and image to release her next project very soon.

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans: I feel like when I start a new record it’s a stress reliever. I take all my emotions; everything I’ve held in and jotted it on paper. For me, its a very peaceful and fun experience.

Q:  How do you shut things out?

Ans: When I am working on a new song and shut things out, I normally will go to my quiet place. Its my area in my home where i have my home studio equipment, keyboard, and writing space.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Ans : I’ve always had an easy time writing songs. The flow, the lyrics, the melody; they all come to me as soo as I have my first line.

Q: What is your favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car?

Ans: My favorite song to belt out when I am in the car is definitly some Ariana Grande. I honestly love everything she does and she is alos one of the artists that inspire me.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: My sound would be smooth with a 90’s vibe.

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the proccess?

ANS: When I write my music there are many things in my life that i draw from. I use my experience through situations I’ve been in. I also use feelings from people that I gain when meeting them. They can be happy, sad, or angry. My favorite part of the writing process would be noticing that whatever I am writing is going to bring lots of emotion and connection to others in a way they will feel it inside their hearts. I love writing from my own experiences where i know others will easily relate to it.

Q: At what age did you start singing?

ANS: I started singing around age 7. My grandmother joined me in the church choir. At first I was not into it. But after a while years went by and it grew on me.

Q:Who are your inspirations?

Ans: My inspirations come from Aaliyah, Ariana Grande, Whiteny Housten, Mariah Carey, Minnie Ripterton, Adele, Ella Mai and Vanity 6.

Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?

Ans: Honestly, this is the hardest question because there are so many artists I would want to work with today and even in the 90’s. I really with that I could have worked with Aaliyah. As for today, I would have to say Ariana Grande. She has a big influence on my music.

Q:  Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Ans: I think that every artist gets a bit of jitters and adrenaline right before a performace and I am not different. I definitely get nervous and have jitters before performances and sometimes it can be hard. I can have panic attacks sometimes due to everything being so overbearing but even in the mist of that, I push through and remember why I am doing what I do. Its a blessing.
