An Exclusive Interview With Famous Artist LilTillyT

LilTillyT is a Miami born artist now residing in Atlanta, Ga. In only a year he has created fan favorites such as “Blacker Panther” and “Emperor’s New Groove” and as such has garnered the attention of blogs and radio station alike. Citing iconic J rock and K pop bands (especially from anime.) as his earliest and favorite musical influences, he has also said that he’s been influenced heavily by Wiz Khalifa and Mac miller who he claims to be the first american rappers he’s enjoyed enough to become a fan of. He has also been caught naming Tyler the Creator, The Underachievers, Childish Gambino, Pro Era, XXXtentacion, Eminem, Insane Clown Posse, Linkin Park, System Of A Down Ski Mask The Slump and Flatbush Zombies all as inspiration to his style. This Crazy conglomerate combined with 90s and early 2000s cartoons resulted in the crazy feel good happy feel that is present within the songs of TillyT. He reportedly plans of using the influence he receives from music to “Save the world a lil bit”. Though he has not explained his plan, one thing is certain, he’s no run of the mill artist..

Q: When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

A: it’s really both I get really freaked because I’m always trying to one up myself.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

A: songs come to me really really easy but good songs that takes a long time

Q: what’s your favorite song to sing live?

A: My song “Fuck IDK” is my favorite song to do live cause both my homies on it so that’s hard.

Q: do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

A: yea I’m actually doing a show in Atlanta In a month or so.

Q: when and why did you start rapping?

A: i was 19 on my way home from work at Wendy’s and I saw my friends preforming it was then I decided I wanted to too.

Q: is your family musical ?

A: well kinda I had no idea when I started but my dad and cousins both made music. Wild right

Q: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

A: Wiz Khalifa definitely, he’s my favorite rapper actually along with Mac Miller got me into rap

Q: were you influenced by old records and tapes? Which ones?

A: definitely kush and oj by Wiz and macadelic by Mac Miller

Q: Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions. Concerts, radio, tv?

A: Yea I do shows the tunes love it when I come out

Q: what advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

A: just do it, it’s going to be really scary until your used to it and there’s only one way to do that.
