Interview With Recording and Multi-faceted entertainer artist J. Payne
Born in Columbia SC on Jan 12, 1990. J. Payne is the son of Angel Payne and Benjamin Wright III. His mother is African-Native American and his father is African American. J. Payne spent a lot of his childhood playing sports and singing in the church choir. He gained appreciation for music that would untimely influence his sound today.
From being a standout athlete in football back in 2008 to asserting himself into the entertainment industry from small rolls on TV shows such as The Originals and Buzzfeed. The rising star brings together a unique style into the music industry. J. Payne brings a unique style of singing and subtle rapping into a new age genre of music. His ability to articulate while also being versatile really catapults him as a standout artist.
When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
I love making new records! It’s the most exciting part of creating content! New beats, new melodies, new everything!
How easily do songs tend to come to you?
Quite easily. I’m such a passionate artist for my craft! Telling my story means everything to me.
What’s your motto or the advice you live by?
Don’t ever give up on your passions! Sometimes life gets in the way but never ever stop doing what moves you.

Man, this ones tough! I’m a mixture of a lot of things! R&B RAP POP! I am a artist. Not 1 genre defines me
You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the proccess?
I do; Inspiration is my entire life. The depths of who I am and where I come from inspires me. My past, my present, my future inspires me. Growing into a more defined artist is my favorite part. It’s a process
If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?
The Weeknd! He’s just an amazing artist.
Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?
Absolutely! We just did a small tour in Europe this summer. We have your plans in the works right now. I’m constantly in the studio feasting! New Music emerging
What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Being nervous is good! Use it as fuel
