An Exclusive Interview With Talented Artist Danjul

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from ?

Answer: Yes, I write my own lyrics. I call them “stories”, but at times my producers may add little changes here and there but 95% of the time I write my own lyrics. It’s funny because I tend to draw inspiration from when I’m sad or hurting lol. Songs just pour out of me.

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting  or stressful?

Answer: It’s always exciting! I love creating new music and telling a new tale musically of my life. It can get a little stressful in the studio lol. Because I’m a perfectionist and so are my producers. But it’s all love, and the fact we all want a timeless song, the stress is worth it.

Q: What is you favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car?

Answer: Do you mean one of my songs? Or another artist? If my song I have a song called “Brick Roads” that I’m obsessed with! Plus currently “Dance to the moon” my newest Dance/Pop single!

Q: How often and for how long do you practice?

Answer: I try to practice on my voice during the week. And I try to write at least everyday. But sometimes I get writers block and can’t think of anything lol.

Q: At what age did you start singing?

Answer: Hmm, like 13? I would sing so much it would drive my little brother crazy! He’d cry cuz he’d want me to shut up haha!

Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

Answer: My team and I are working on performances. As of now I’m just in the studio a lot recording! I released a Dance/Pop single called “Dance to the moon” excited about that!

Q: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

Answer: There’s a few, but Michael Jackson, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Brandy, Madonna, Lady Gaga, David Bowie. Just to name a few. There are unique and were original! Iconic is an understatement…

Q: Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?

Answer: I grew up in the Pop era when pop music was at its highest on both male and female side. So of course N’Sync! Britney Spears all that was dope. I still buy CDs…I just like a physical copy…everything is digital which is cool. But I always buy CDs still.

Q: Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Answer: Of course! Like it’s really bad! Lol gas, farts, stomach butterflies! Yep, all that hahaha!

Q: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Answer: Just keep going. I started off as a dancer/choreographer. I normally laugh when I mess up because I’m dumb lol but I just keep going.

Q: Do you teach music?

Answer: No, maybe when I’m like 60 lol
