An Exclusive Interview With Multi Talented DJ Megzz

Please introduce yourself ??

My name is DJ Megzz and im a DJ/Music Producer. I am 24 years old. I produce generally house, dance, and EDM music. I started making music only 4 months ago. I began making music after i suffered from depression and knew i needed to make a change. So that change was making music. Making music is what i love to do and im happier then ever now. I have my first album available for pre order on itunes now. The album is called Sleepless Nights. Im also working on something else for the near future.

Q: When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

I decided i needed to come out with my first album about two months ago. I knew i needed to have a project out for the public if i ever hope to get signed to a major label. I think its really exciting creating a new project or track. I love coming up with everything and i love when people listen to a track i made and say to me that they really like it.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

They dont tend to come easy thats for sure lol. I start by picking vocals that i like and then go from their. From Their i pick the beat that matches with the vocals and then i create the effects that go along with it.

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

MAKE.GREAT.MUSIC.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Different, Unique, Uplifting, Euphoric, and always changing.

Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?

Well my fav artist is drake so obviously him, but i would also love to perform with Steve Angello and Years and Years.

Q: How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?

Its very tough, theirs been alot of sleepless nights…hence the reason for the title of my album. I try to balance my current job and my career with music by knowing when to take a break. Ive worn myself out before to the point that ive slept for days straight afterwards. So knowing when to take a break and relax and get some rest is very important in balancing my personal life with making music.

Q: What do your friends and family think of your music?

I hope they like it lol. My family is very supportive, my twin brother is actually my manager. My friends are very supportive too. One of my best friends, Kevin, stayed up with me one night and we must have made 5-10 songs. So yes, they are all supportive.

Q: You said you dealt with a rough patch in your life dealing with depression, can you tell us more about that?

Lets just say i never want to go back to feeling like that ever again. Dealing with my anxiety is manageable, but when your dealing with deep depression….life can really get messed up. Ill leave it at that.

Q: Can you tell us how you were able to overcome that?

With the help of my friends and family of course, but making music has made me feel like i have a purpose now. Before i was just kind of going through life and going through the motions, but now im excited again, im excited about this music thing and its given me a chance to be happy again.

Q: What advice do you have for people going through that depression that you went through?
Never give up. No matter how hopeless it feels and gets sometimes…never give up, just keep going.

Q: Lastly, can you tell us a little more about the upcoming album you have on itunes?

Its a seven track EP that also features my singles “Fight The Fire” and “I Want You” From the first track to the last, each song describes feelings that ive gone through. I really wanted to make the EP almost describe what ive been going through these past couple months. So yea, this album “Sleepless Nights” really tells where im at in my life right now.

Thanks for taking time out of your day:)
