Elyse is a Simi Valley, California based American singer-songwriter, actress, and dancer. She has deep love and passion for music. “Can’t Have Me” is one of her latest tracks.
SNT Mag: What made you decide to pursue a career in entertainment?
Elyse: Ever since I was little, I always loved to sing. When I was in fourth grade, I performed on a stage in front of people for the first time ever. It was in that moment that I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to sing in front of people and make music. I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I knew that this was what I was meant to do with my life. From that moment on, I kept singing and kept performing anywhere I possibly could and a while later, an opportunity presented itself. I was approached by Andrew Lane who happened to be judging a local open mic competition I performed in and ended up winning and he asked if I’d like to work with him. My family and I thought about it and prayed about it over several months and decided to sign with him. That was when I really started pursuing my career in entertainment.
SNT Mag: What kind of singer would you classify yourself as?
Elyse: I started out very mainstream pop, but I’m transitioning to more of a country/pop sound with my music.
SNT Mag: What makes “Can’t Have Me” your one of the best releases so far?
Elyse: I think it’s a song that a lot of people can really jam to whether they can relate to it or not. I think it’s the kind of song that you can just sort of shout at the top of your lungs and dance to.
SNT Mag: Audio or video, which version of the track got better response?
Elyse: I think they both did pretty well actually! They’re both pretty close in numbers, so I think they both had a great response.
SNT Mag: If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Elyse: I would want to open for Carrie Underwood or Kelsea Ballerini. Since my music is starting to go more towards country/pop, and because I absolutely love both Carrie and Kelsea’s music, it would be so incredible to open for one of them.
SNT Mag: What was the best concert you’ve seen/performed in and why?
Elyse: I saw Panic! At The Disco in 2019 with my best friend and it was probably the best concert I’ve seen. Brendon Urie is not only an amazing singer with an insanely huge vocal range but he continuously blew me away throughout the night as he continued to hit notes I had no idea he could hit. He is an incredible performer and he is constantly moving and dancing and interacting with the crowd. The concert was so good because he kept the audience constantly entertained. It was so much fun and I can’t wait to see another Panic! At The Disco concert.
SNT Mag: Do you need some specific kind of environment for writing songs?
Elyse: I definitely need to have quiet when I write. I can’t have any sort of music playing or people talking or anything like that. I also typically like to be alone when I write, but I can write with other people around if I need to.
