Q: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?


Ans: I admire Gazmada. She is a graceful talented pianist who in addition to giving powerful performances, always has something visually captivating in her videos.

Q: If you had a soundtrack to your life what song/songs would have to be on it?

Q: Which famous musicians have been an influence on you?


Ans: Brad Mehldau has been a huge influence. I was inspired by his rendition of Everything in it’s Right Place. After listening to that I decided to cover songs I wanted to cover and play them the way I wanted to play them.

Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?


Ans: Every week I play for the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy while they drink coffee and make art. I am going to recording a new solo piano album soon. I plan on recording Madonna, Metric, Lady Gaga, Pink, Destiny’s Child, Cyndi Lauper, as well as originals.

Q: Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes?


Ans: When I lived in Chicago there was a local pub called the Charleston that had a music contest and I came in first. I hope you don’t think I’m bragging…

Q: Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?


Ans: Right now I am performing at a restaurant called Bump’s in Iowa city and various retirement homes. I always enjoy playing live.

Q: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?


Ans: It’s only a mistayke if I don’t repeat it. It’s only a mistayke if I don’t repeat it.

Q: How often and for how long do you practice?


Ans: I try to practice every day, anywhere from one to five hours.

Q: What is your favorite musical note?


Ans: F#.

Ans: I’m single and I have no children. I work two days a week. Playing piano is my primary focus right now.

Ans: No, I use my fingers.
