Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
Ans: Its always exciting but at the same time with anything that you put all of your energy into theres always going to be stressful parts but every second is worth it.
Q: How do you shut things out?
Ans: I just like to lie down, breath and have a little positive word with myself.
Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?
Ans : It depends on my mood and the beat but they generally come pretty smoothly.
Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?
Ans: Don’t take things too personal and be kind to yourself.
Q: What is you favourite song to belt out at the bar/in the car?
ANs: It’s got to be a bit of old school Erykah Badu in the car
Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?
Ans: Chilled, soulful, lyrical, timeless and poetic
Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favourite part about the process?
ANS: I write little ideas down all the time, sometimes I remember bits of dreams that i’ve had, sometimes about the mood i’m in but my favourite part is putting them all together and making a story out of them.
Q: At what age did you start singing?
ANS: I started singing properly when I was about 7 but I can’t ever remember a time when music wasn’t part of my day to day.
Q:Who are your inspirations?
Ans: At the minute i’m really inspired by all of the artists coming out of Manchester, its amazing to see so much talent come from my home town.
Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?
Ans: I’d love to perform with Stormzy or Jorja Smith and it would be an absolute dream to perform with Erykah!
Q:What is your favourite song to sing live?
Ans: I love singing ‘Wild’ live, I love where I was when I wrote it and performing it takes me back there.
Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?
Ans: I’m always recording and creating in the studio, I do have some events coming up this month, one of them i’ll be representing my city of Manchester at the ‘Queens of the North’ event. Celebrating female acts from all around the north west.
