A Recent Interview With Dobie

We recently got an opportunity to have a conversation with Dobie about his all famous music releases.Sharing it with our readers here.

Q : Please introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Vjeran (which in Croatian means faithfull), I was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and momentarily I am living on the relation Croatia – Ireland due to business purposes, working in IT/marketing industry. I am 45 years old although still 20 in my mind

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans: It was very very exciting and it was a pleasure cause I worked with real professionals Gordan NIA and producer Brad Grobler BIG Production.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Ans : Depends on mood, ideas, inspiration, condition that is associated with emotional state.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: Melodic, powerful, emotional, simple and sound rich.

 Q:Who are your inspirations?

Ans: One very ssspecial person.

Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

Ans: At the moment I am working on the new remix of my song “My Everything”, a new song Love Ssstory and the new project of Dobie Records called Spell Code.

Q:  Describe your family member’s musical interests and abilities.

Ans: My grandma was a piano player, my uncle Igor Rubesa music professor and the majority of my family members are playing some instruments so that significantly influenced my growing up.

 Q:  Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

Ans: I grew up listening to electronic music so I have big list, Jean Michael Jarre, Kraftwerk, Robert Miles, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Ultravox, Trevor Horn, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, DeadMau5, Kirill … but also good old fuga “trancer” Johann Sebastian Bach, minimalists like Terry Riley, Philip Glass …

 Q:  Who was your first teacher? Other teachers?

Ans: My first (home teacher) was my uncle, later Mrs. Cavic, professor on Music Academy in Zagreb.

 Q:  Describe your first instrument. Other instruments.

Ans: It was uncle ‘s piano and my Proksch piano (with original English construction – amazing sound) and later my first Casio keyboards, Yamaha PSR-6300, Yamaha DX 7 II …

Q:  How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?

Ans: Good question, 24 hours are not enough J
