Sntmag : Please introduce yourself to the readers ?

My name is LeJearl Gillespie, a 20 year old hip-hop alternative artist from Cleveland, Ohio. As can artist, I go by the name Spazzo Cle, signifying my passion for Cleveland, Ohio and everything it stands for. I’ve been recording and performing music on a serious level for 5 years. I’ve auditioned at The Apollo Theaters Amateur Night in New York City in March of 2016, headlined 2 shows in New Castle, PA, also participated as an opening act for Bone Thugs & Harmony, Twista, Machine Gun Kelly, Hopsin, and King Chip (aka Chip Tha Ripper). I aspire to inspire others with my music and my voice itself. I’ve also toured with the Music Over Violence program, sponsored by CSU, Tri-C, WKYC and Channel 19 Action News, while also appearing on WKYC (Channel 3) to perform “Unity”. A song I wrote and recorded speaking on the violence and corruption going on in our world today. I’m currently working on a new project titled “Honor”, honoring the lives lost due to violence and negativity brought to our world. I’ve performed at venues such as Peabodys, The Agora, The Foundry, Phantasy Night Club, The Symposium, Taste of Sea, CSU, Tri-C, The Apollo, City Hall and The Grog Shop. Later this year, I’m expected to return to The Apollo for the actual Amateur Night Event back in New York, and after that, the rest is history.

Sntmag :When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

A: Ehh, it could be stressing, only when I know I’m trying to perfect a single or something. But it’s more so exciting because like, I’m my own favorite artist. So it’s ALWAYS dope to hear new material from Spazzo (Haha).

Sntmag :How do you shut things out?

A: I try to be alone as much as possible when I write, turn the lights off and roll one. I put a beat in rotation, a few of em, freestyle over a few and get the juices going.

Sntmag : How easily do songs tend to come to you?

A: Easy. I hum alot, and I flow melodies, so I hum a good melody and put words in place of it.

Sntmag : What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

A: Never Not Working

Sntmag : What is you favorite song to bump out at the bar/in the car?

A: Panda by Desiigner. That’s my guy right now (haha) Dudes entertaining as s***!

Sntmag : What is your favorite song to sing live?

A: …..Probably, I’m On It. Just because of the feel I get live when I perform it, and the style is CRAZY is recite! I just love that song probably, I don’t know (hahaha)

Sntmag : How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

A: I roll with it. I use it to my advantage and capitalize.

Sntmag : I’ve seen you take pictures with fans in public before. Do you get nervous when you get approached?

A: I get stuck. Only because I’m still getting use to the attention, so it’s dope to me (haha)

Sntmag : I discovered you on YouTube in your 96 Flow viral video in Hype Magazine. What’s been going through your mind as a quiet upcoming internet sensation.?

A: Never really put that much thought into that, but when you say it like that, I’m just blessed!! Only God to thank. God and CleGang.

Sntmag : What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

A: Everyone begins infront of the virgin eye. It’s your job as an artist to make people look at you in a different way and earn their comfort for you to be comfortable. It gets easier with practice.

Sntmag  : Thanks for you time 🙂
