DJ RMFH from the Netherlands is back after 12 years! with a lovely summer track ‘Sunny Thoughts’ under the label of Elektra Music Group. the DJ scored a hit in 2008 with Breeze, which was proclaimed costa summer hit in europe.

The Myspace legend also scored hits like Tequila Sunrise and Sexual Sax. The platinum/gold DJ did not sit still and worked as a remixer for Janet Jackson, among others. Sunny Thoughts available everywhere from June 19th!

When and why did you start playing?

I’ve been involved with music since I was little, from playing records to playing instruments. it wasn’t until I was 13 that I really came into contact with the technique of Dance music, which gave me a wonderful feeling when making it, I could express a lot of emotion in it. and I still do today

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

I like many kinds of music when I hear something in it that I understand. I come from the Hip Hop side myself so guys like Krs-One, NWA, Wu Tang, Run DMC have taught me a lot. But I also like the heavier sound like Crazy Town, Jet. And in the Dance, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Quicksilver. So yes I choose my artists.

Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?

No not anymore. Secretly I would like to pick it up again, but I’m also getting older one day.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?

I used to find that difficult, I wanted to put energy into my career, but I also just had to go to school and work. sometimes also difficult to explain when I’m in the hit charts in Spain and in the Netherlands but people look at me strangely and indignantly. As my career progressed, the more confidence I gained in what I do.

For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Good, Smile, technic,amazing, emotion

You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the proccess?

A lot comes from my past, as a child it was not always pleasant, unfortunately, but then we have many stories in it. Over the years, I have not had an easy time with alcohol, pills, drugs, love. Friends who committed suicide. So where I get my inspiration from is pretty clear, I try to get the beauty and power out of those stories. the best thing is when someone else hears something different than me

If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?

Uhm.. Armin van Buuren? I have no idea actually .. but Armin seems cool to me to ever do something with.

Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

hell yes! there’s a lot more music to come and can’t wait to let it be heard! but first Sunny Thoughts! I am very curious about what will happen and how it will be received. Will I perform again? time will tell

What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?

I really have a lot of them, but one of the great stories was when Breeze just came out and did his thing on the radio, I had a performance in the streets of Rotterdam and didn’t have an expectation yet. I start spinning Breeze and as if it was supposed to be, 20,000 people were dancing and jumping on this track in no time. Beautiful moments.

What do you practice – exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?

I always try something new, this can be a combination of music types or technique. My first album Naked Truth mainly consisted of experimenting with styling, Ambient vs. Hip Hop, Trance vs. old school dance.

This allows you to give a different sound than the rest.after many years I also understand how he can transfer music, on the Untold Memories record a lot of technology is hidden for your headphones to let you go along in my story.

Breeze and Sunny Thoughts are far from that! those are a nice summery sound that only includes the thought of a cold cocktail and the sea in the background.
