Daniel Hennessy is a 32 year old aspiring and talented artist, from Brisbane, Australia; who has hit the ground running since producing his music in 2017. “People often ask me, what’s my genre of music? I just simply say I’m an artist in the industry, [sic] I mean some of my songs I sing are pop/acoustic and a lot of other songs are hip hop, so it just depends on the mood and how the music sounds I guess”. Daniel is currently working on recording an E.P and is enthusiastic about the future and direction of his music. “I have so much passion for what I do and I love creating music that people can relate to with powerfully raw and honest lyrics, I just want my music to make a difference to people’s lives for the better and so far I’ve gotten so much positive feedback from fans. I’m just so grateful and having the support to keep chasing my dreams is such an amazing experience”. Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
Ans: I would have to say both. Sometimes it can be very stressful especially finding the time to produce a new record. Other times, I can experience writer’s block and that can really throw everything off.
Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?
Ans : It comes and goes, a lot of it depends on my mood and how I’m feeling so I just make the most of it.
Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?.
Ans: I would have to say energetic, powerful, big, emotional and catchy
Q: At what age did you start singing?
ANS: I think I was about 16/17, people said I was good so I’ve kind of just gone with that ever since haha.
Q:Who are your inspirations?
Ans: I have so many, I love Bliss and Eso, 360, Hilltop Hoods, Eminem, Post Malone the list goes on.
Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?
Ans: I would love to perform with Bliss and Eso, their performances are full of energy!
Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?
Ans: I’m currently in the process of producing an E.P so I’m very excited with this production coming out. Once I send it off I will start looking at doing some gigs.
Q: Which famous musicians have you learned from?
Ans: Honestly, Ed Sheeran. During an interview I watched, his advice to upcoming artists was to just keep putting your music out there- even if its not that great, because each song is an improvement from the last.
Q: How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
Ans: It can be very hard trying to balance everything, I honestly didn’t expect to be this busy with my music but I generally try and spend an equal amount of time with all of my commitments. A lot of the time it doesn’t go to plan though haha.
