A Quick Conversation With Gojko

Gojko grew up in Eastern Europe, in a small, war torn town stricken by adverse poverty, in south Serbia. As a young child of 7, he showed an interest and started dancing and singing in a local group.Gojko’s first song, LUXURY, was done by Grammy nominated producer Rey Reel. The lyrics were by Krysta Youngs, a lady that has written for many big names in the music industry. The vocal production was handled by Bert Elliot (producer to OneRepublic and Ryan Tedder. Bert Elliot is a producer and co-writer with the likes of David Quinones of The Writing Camp (Beyonce, The Pussycat Dolls), Keith Harris (Nicki Minaj, Madonna), and Brent Kutzle (David Guetta).

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans:  Making music is the best job in the world , but yes , it is a combination of both exciting and stressful, but certainly more exciting than stressful.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Ans : WIth a double espresso and a good mood songs come to me a lot! haahhaah

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Ans:  Always be confident, trust your instinct. Don’t let someone who is less successful give you advices about success.  I am a proof that one can do anything they want as long as they have plan, are ready to sacrifice, and are ready to not sleep much.

 

ANs:Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: Unique, Sexy, Worldly, High Energy, Sophisticated.

Q: At what age did you start singing?

ANS:  Well, soon as I opened my mouth I started singing! 🙂 I know, sounds cliche but it is very true!

Q:Who are your inspirations?

Ans:  I have many inspirations , but I think that I am very self driven person. I get inspired by powerful women.

Q:Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career or just advice about careers in general?

Ans :  Singing is the best career one can have. It is beautiful, however one has to be obsessed with their career if they want to be successful singer that people will recognize and appreciate !

Q:How does the conversation go when someone pitches the performance to you?

Ans:  I consider myself for a product. And product has a value, package, presentation, respect.  Performing for me , is an very important thing and an opportunity to present myself as someone who makes an amazing show that has a message, power, high energy.

Q: Which instruments do you play?

Ans: My Voice is an instrument. It is the most sophisticated, complicated, expensive and beautiful instrument 😉

 Q: Is your family musical?

Ans: My family is crazy ! hahahaha , JK . Well , they are everything .. they speak 10 languages, cook , yell , love each other, hate each other, paint, fix things, heal animals, plant, cook , do make up , teach math, work in united nations .. 🙂

Q: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Ans:  My mistakes usually turn out to be the best parts of my performances.. Sometimes mistakes happen for a reason LOL . We are all people, we make mistakes . There is nothing wrong with them. When mistake happens to me I usually just keep going or I make a joke or say “Guys , I think I am a HUMAN noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo”

Q: Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Ans:  hahahaah I do !! Very , but usually when I get on the stage all of that is gone and I feel a lot of positive energy that I share with audience.

Q: What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

Ans: Take a shoot of good vodka and have fun .
