What made you want to become an artist?

Every since I was a kid, I’ve always had a passion for singing and entertaining people. It was only natural that as I grew up, I gravitated towards wanting to do this as a profession.

What age did you start singing?

I started singing around age 8 or 9. I wrote my first song at age 13.

Do you write your own music? Where do you draw inspiration from?

Yes I write my own lyrics. I draw inspiration from real life events that have happened to me or things that I can relate to.

Who are you inspirations?

Usher, Tank, Eric Bellinger, Ne-Yo, and Donell Jones to name a few.

How easily do songs come to you?

Writing some songs come easier than others. Most of the time I just need to just go somewhere quiet, no phone, no tv, and just allow the instrumental to take me somewhere.

For readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Real, relatable, R&B with passion.

What’s your motto or the advice that you live by?

I constantly remind myself “don’t allow anyone to define what your level of success/happiness should look like”.

If you could perform with anyone in the future, who would it be?

I would love to collaborate on a song with Eric Bellinger. I respect his work and he inspires me the most right now.

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career?

My best advice would be to bet on yourself against all odds. Never let someone’s “no” discourage you to quitting, use it as motivation to obtain your “yes” in the future.
