Q: How did you come up with your stage name? I was brainstorming with my sister one day. She asked me what are your favorite numbers. I said 4 and 7. She then said why don’t you just put that together with your initials. 47EG, E47G, EG47. She then said that it sounded like an email address. Then it clicked. I had left a corporate environment to follow my passion. That was my character and who I am.

Q: When did you decide it was time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans: I had released music and performed a couple of years back. From those ventures I accumulated a couple of fans that stayed faithful. When I was working my corporate job, they would message me a couple of times a year and ask me when I was going to release something new. Something inside just told me that I had to go back to what I loved.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Ans : They either come or they don’t. When I write a song, I sit down for 30 minutes and write something great then I edit it a couple of days later. I try to work in increments of 30 minutes. When inspiration doesn’t hit me; well that’s a different story.

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Ans: “Hold close the ones you love the most.”

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: New Age Intelligent Story Telling

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

ANS: I write about stories I have seen in the past. All my stories are real to someone. I like meditating and dreaming like if I am in that certain situation. I like to see the tiny details.

Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?

Ans: It would have to be G-Easy.

Q:Do you have any events coming up or recording going on right now?

Ans: Yes my mix tape will drop in early May. Please stay up to date on my social media.

Q:Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career or just advice about careers in general?

Ans :You get one life, so do what makes you happy. Don’t get stuck living someone else’s life. Pick up the pen, pad and follow your dreams.

Q:  Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

Ans: I admire Brad Paisley. The way he tells a story through a song is so flawless. That’s the style I try to follow but in hip hop. Like a hip hop Brad Paisley.

Thanks for taking time out of your day:)
