Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
It’s tough because each record is my baby and I like to nurture it take care of it help it along its journey I’m not one to rush a release I prefer to put out a couple quality releases a year as opposed to quantity. Yes it is both exciting and stressful lol
Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?
Ans : not always easy I mean the creative part yes but then finding the right to do so to give it that sound it’s all a little bit of an organic process sometimes you have to sit down and think about who would be the perfect match to work on the song with you
Q: What is you favorite song to belt out in the car (that is not your own)?
ANs: respect by Aretha Franklin lol depends on the week or the month
Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?
Ans: Great that’s a tough one there are so many people but I’ve always wanted to have a record with Calvin Harris but I would have love to perform live with you U2
Q:Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career or just advice about careers in general?
Ans : yes get used to working hard don’t expect anything to happen overnight be honest about who you are and don’t ever have a Plan B and remember all the rejections are going to be there redirections you need to pursue your path
Q: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
Ans: Tina turner she has an incredible voice such an incredible artist, Jennifer Lopez I must say is a beast not only is she hot she sings performs dances she’s a fashion icon she really is something else I have to sayJanet Jackson is still one of my favorites
Q: What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Ans: it’s OK to be nervous but always try to be yourself don’t let anyone change you, never get a big head, try to stay humble, figure out what you want and what you don’t want and make decisions in your career that will lead you that way
Q: How do you balance your music with your love life?
Ans: I date out of my business I don’t mix the two ever. I have a nice balance is healthy life is short and at the end of the day I’m not going to take all my platinum records with me to my grave am I 😉 We all need some love
Q: We Love your new record DOOMSDAY with Lodato, how did you guys get together for this collaboration?
ANs: he stalked me for years lol, just kidding I admire him and his hard work ethic he is talented but very humble I have always wanted to work with him and I enjoy working with him his energy the team around him he is blessed and has great people around him which is a true reflection of him and what a great human being and talented artist he truly is. We wanted to make a song that was different we wanted to talk about all the real shit in life that people struggle and go through and to remind everyone that even though he gets real difficult in life there’s light at the end of the tunnel and it is OK to be hanging off the cliff he’s OK to have dark thoughts OK to have insecurities and struggle and feel like a failure or a loser just know that we all have those thoughts and feelings even the most successful people out there take for example Avicii who just recently passed on the outside we will thought well I wish I had his life.. but people need to let everyone know when they are suffering it is OK and nothing to feel ashamed off we have all been there and I think we wanted to make a record that lets people feel OK to go through those periods to not feel ashamed about not being able to cope sometimes in life and to reach out to friends and love ones or even on social media and you will find many people will connect with you and reach out back to you this way you create a great community for yourself
