A Quick Conversation With Talented Singer & Songwriter Corey J

BIO :Corey J is 20 years old  from Sydney Australia. He is talented singer songwriter.

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans: Music is the heart of my soul. And for the blessing of others hearing my music, is heart warming. I stress when I feel as though it could’ve been done better. But at the end of the day if the lyrics bring hope to other’s, that’s all that matters. So yes, always excited!

Q:  How do you shut things out?

Ans: Stay around positivity, blocking out the negative, meditate, listen to music, train at the gym.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Ans : Most songs come very easily to me, although “As Life Goes On” was very difficult for me to confront. As It’s based on my life growing up, I found it hard to put my pain into lyrics. That being said, usually I find it quite easy to put my thoughts into lyrics and song

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Ans: Live a life worth living!! Sodier on! There’s a light at the end of a tunnel, always.

Q: What is you favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car?

ANs: 0-100 by Drake. It’s like my motivation song.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: R’nB/Soul, Inspiring (I hope), hopefull, chilled, different?

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the proccess?

ANS: Well when people hear music, they want to be able to connect with the artist they listen to at the time (in my opinion). I try and onnect to the audience/listeners by portraying life experiences, emoitions and thoughts throughout my music. And my favourite part about it is seeing people be able to connect with the music I write, to hopefully give hope to the people feel they have none.

Q: At what age did you start singing?

ANS: I used to love singing as a kid and always

had hopes of pursuing it, yet didn’t feel I was good enough. It wasn’t until I was 16, that I started pusuing a possible career in the industry

Q:Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to sing as a career or just advice about careers in general?

Ans : Do what you love!! Cliché, but follow what your heart wants. If you put enough time and effort into something whether it be music or becoming the wolf of wall street, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.
