THE AMAZINGLY TALENTED AND BRAVE ACTOR EGO MIKITAS

Some people might ask why a fashion show producer who has done a lot of modeling, along with producing and directing the famous “Russian Ball” show program and is a founder and director of Moscow’s well-known Twins Theatre, has moved into acting in feature-length motion pictures. The answer is pretty simple though: it’s just more exciting.

And it really is if you ask the person we’re talking about, Ego Mikitas. We watched some scenes from his acting reels and promotional videos and this guy is impressive as an action star. His tall, slender build has all the confidence and poise that a young Clint Eastwood or Liam Neeson possesses. He walks calmly toward his assailant and we can see him formulating a plan of action just before he springs his perfectly disarming, disruptive and devastating moves onto the seemingly overpowering enemy. Ego should do more of these action movies because he is truly great at them. His face has such a kind and intelligent demeanor that the audience and his opponents will all be surprised at what’s coming – at lightning speed.

However, by seeing his performance in the feature film “Genre” we can clearly see Ego, as an actor way deeper and talented than you can think the guy at his size and fighting abilities may be. From the first seconds of the movie, where Ego plays Mr Malek – Boss of Mafia – we can see he is a guy without a heart, he commands people to be killed, or “ shuffled into the Icebox” as he breathes. Then, in a fracture of a second, his face shows the best loving father on earth, while he speaks with his daughter over the phone. All in the same scene, and without a cut! He plays his Character as a father so great and believable that audiences completely were mislead that he is the same Bad guy. The Good guy, when played by Ego- so real, so human, that you would love to have him as a best friend, husband, father, or even a neighbor!

The Mafia boss father’s love is the main intriguing point of this action movie, Ego’s dialogues with his daughter Rose, his looks, his facial expressions are incredible by the way he plays this role. Ego clearly can play Santa, or Jesus, or any other kindest man on Earth.  The 2 faced man fortune is a critical feature for this movie and it was beautifully performed by Ego in the  first part of the movie. And only when his daughter has been kidnapped, the bad guy comes back for the best action he was made for. The second part is a Vengeance, the evil’s benefice, we already know Ego excels with this and he nailed it again.

After this movie, we can also imagine this hardworking actor playing quite urban roles in romantic comedies and even dramas. He really does have it all. The December 2016 release of the feature film “New Year’s Gift” with Ego in the supporting role just proved this guy can still smile as an angel. Recently, Ego has also been cast in the role of a romantic professor for the web series “Chasers” to be filmed in 2017.

Ego is an interesting human being no matter how you look at him. When we look at his acting skills they are top noth and his characters can be threatening, even when he just looks at someone, or extremely friendly and full of love, depending on who the character is. The main thing to know is that Ego is one of those special actors who “becomes” the character and that’s why he is so believable up there on that big, old silver screen.  We can’t wait to see which role he takes on next!
