An Actor Of Many Talents Edward Coupland

Quite the acting range, Edward Coupland has. This Yorkshire, England bred actor studied at RADA (the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) in London under the legendary Brit actor and acting coach, Paul Gregory. He, in turn, was mentored by the late, great, actor’s actor Sir Laurence Olivier. So, Edward Coupland can trace his acting chops and training back to the great Olivier and then back even farther to Olivier’s teachers and mentors. Many of today’s pianists and composers and other artists, like Edward,  can trace their mentors’ teaching lineage back generations also. Some of the greats that are mentioned by musicians are Brahms. Liszt, Beethoven and others. Coupland is certainly in good company with his acting line of Olivier and Gregory.

This tall, 6’3” thespian has a long resumé of films, TV series and short films. Some of the TV series Edward has been featured in are: Kat Loves LA, James Blondes, Janeslist, Tattoo Nightmares, The Bill, Leroy’s House, Love Tourettes and True Blood among others. In the full length motion picture SpoOK Edward played Soren Stefansson. It is a story about amateur parapsychologists who travel to a 14th century haunted castle to disprove the existence of ghosts. Edward, in the lead role, has a hidden agenda, which causes tragic consequences for the group.

Among other movies, he was also in a film called Bikini Model Agency, where he worked along side of Gary Busey, Morgan Fairchild and Benjamin Stone. It is about two guys, desperate for money, who decide to start a bikini modeling school.

His most current project is Catalyst, a feature film from New Light Films, directed by Scott Vickers. Edward is cast as Macker, a British SAS operative. The story takes place after a thermonuclear war has occurred. A group of scientists who predicted the conflict take refuge in a remote part of Norway. A psychological and physical battle for the bunker begins when a band of soldiers break into the bunker.

Edward and Scott Vickers have known each other for some time. Edward says that they have spoken about the project repeatedly and it is a very engaging and relevant story, especially in light of current events and the pandemic. The movie is about a sheer will to survive and demonstrates how far people will go to protect those whom they love. He also says that there is a great deal of buzz about this film and that he is excited to be a part of it.
